  • Better than 2001 V6 - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

I traded my 2001 Limited Grand Cherokee 2WDw/V6 engine for 2004 2WDw/V8. I love the way that it drives. I totally disagree w/ Edmonds that it rides like a truck, and so does everyone else that I talk with. The V8 with 5 speed transmission is much more fun to drive and very smooth; IMO.The styling is great inside and out.I did have a number of problems with my 2001, but I believe that Jeep has strived hard for better quality in recent years.

I think that my Gran Cherokee is quite possibly the best car of I ever owned. I am a mother who is hauling kids everywhere, and I feel very safe in my jeep. I have owned a Mercedes and a BMW and now I am on my 4th Grand Cherokee and love it.

The Jeep is a fine SUV until things start to go wrong. I am tired of hearing "we see this all the time in these Jeeps" from my mechanic when I have a little problem. It performs excellent off road, but compared to other SUVs it is noisy and has mediocre handling. Chrysler designs these vehicles so that when little things go wrong with them - big things have to be replaced.

Great vehicle. Not a cross-over SUV. Drives well, comfortable seating, a lot of power. We have had it for 4 months now and are considering trading it in because of an inadequate air conditioning system. We live in the south and when the outside temp rises above 85 the vehicle doesnt cool down much past 80. It is ok in the front when the vents are pointed directly on you and the fan is on high, but the rear occupants dont get cooling that way. When the vents are pointed towards the back it doesnt make much difference. Jeep has recognized this problem and offers rear air vents in its 2005 models.

  • WoW! Im probably just dreaming! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Well, I found this car on eBay and didnt think it would end up in my price range. Had been leased out for a very short time-11,687 mi. to be exact (banks still considered it new as opposed to used). In flawless condition he sold it to me for $17,800 with zero hassle/haggle. I couldnt believe it all the way home, (apx. 300 mi.) it rides great, it has great pickup for a 6 cyl. It corners like a bicycle compared to other SUVs (must be the Jeep in its blood). The leather feels great and it steers like a dream. Im an audio aficionado so eventually I will have to replace the sound system but for now this one is actually okay. Best car Ive evr had. Get one !

  • I love my Jeep! - 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

Ive owned several Jeep Grand Cherokees Limited in the past as well as a Ford Explorer Limited, going from the Ford to the Jeep was like going from a Hyundai to a Lexus. Besides the GREAT deal I got, I love driving my new SUV. Id highly recommend it.

I have a harmonic groan that comes from the drivetrain. Dealer cant fix it and Chrysler wont do anything about it. Filing for Lemon Law help. Wouldnt buy another one.

Simply put, a great SUV through and through. The Overland is not for everyone, and are best suited for those enthusiasts of true off-road vehicles. Remember, the Jeep will behave and react like an SUV should, and when properly maintenanced will provide years of inexplicable joy and recreation.

I have had the Grand Cherokee Limited for over 4 months and all I can say is I LOVE THIS vehicle! It rides smoothly, handles well, and is so comfortable to drive I am always wanting to drive more. The high ground clearance makes travel over rough conditions a breeze. The back is spacious and can carry lots of equipment and supplies.
